As a result of a public tender procedure Rapp Trans was awarded a contract in November 2011 for technical consulting in the area of road user charging in Germany. The truck tolling system in Germany has been charging trucks from 12t on motorways since 2005, and is operated under a Public-Private-Partnership contract. In the next three years, Rapp Trans will advise the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development and the Federal Office of Goods Transport on technical issues associated with road user charging. These include issues such as the European Electronic Toll Service (EETS), further development of the existing toll system and the inclusion of toll charging on federal roads.
